New on to the market after 24 years ... scary. Still feel like I'm married. Starting over in Newcastle because my girls are in the area. Looking to make some friends to begin with. Other than that ... see how it goes. Likes: foreign films, fantasy fiction, RnB/Dance, (& clubbing).
I suppose that more than anything, I want someone to love and take care of, who loves me. I feel like half a person at the moment. Does that make me needy ? No, just lonely.
I don't know about soul-mates, or "the one": I love my friends (and my ex too!); but there must be any number of people out there who feel like me; who would love to be loved. To post a bad quote: "I always just hoped that, that I'd meet some nice friendly girl, like the look of her, hope the look of me didn't make her physically sick, then pop the question and, um, settle down and be happy. It worked for my parents. Well, apart from the divorce and all that."
Newly single, I felt my life had to change. I sat down & asked: what was I good at; what did I enjoy; what do I want to learn.
I decided the answers were dance; art & BSL. I've started to go out & join classes etc to improve myself & get to meet some new people. CEROC dance is underway ... Gym started 24/2 ... Art started 16/3 .. joining the community theatre as soon as I'm properly resident in the area, got documentary film-making starting soon. Unfortunately, BSL has to wait til Sep/07 ...
Have just bought a flat overlooking the Tyne, so I'll also be quite busy remodelling & DIY for the next couple of months. (Do I have time for a relationship - good question - do you like the same things I do? Lets do them together :)
Anything else you want to know ... just ask. I'm quite an open person.
Update 1/11
I was just thinking I needed to update the profile and then, after being single for the thick end of a year, I have just started to date a young lady, who amazingly enough seems to fulfil all the requirements I set out below. God I'm a lucky guy. So anyhow, I've knocked the profile down to "friendship", cos while you can never have too many friends, you can definitely have too many dates. :D

    Ideally I want to be with someone who loves me .... and just naturally shows me that she loves me .... in all kinds of ways. Is passionate about me. Flirts shamelessly with me. Someone I feel the same about.

    Someone who is emotionally intelligent & aware, and intellectually insightful. Doesn't matter if we have the same interests, as long as we stimulate one another.

    If she is all wrapped up in a cute package, then thats a bonus ...

    So if anyone matching the above is interested in a slightly used but fairly decent & servicable bloke; available for "a see how it goes" relationship ... let me know. Haven't done any dating for a long time & could probably do with the practice :-) I'm not looking to rush into a relationship on the rebound, lets take it slow and enjoy the romance of getting to know one another.

    I'm not perfect, I don't expect you to be. Qualities preferred: kind, generous to others, loving, enjoys life. Willing to be open & honest. Colour & creed don't matter (as long as you accept that I'm not religious). Self-respect & respect for others does matter.
