I have been artistic ever since I can remember. As a child I loved to draw & play with clay. Some of my fondest memories involve my father bringing me home comic books to read. He passed away at an early age but I kept reading comics. My mother encouraged my love of comic books and would take me once a week to the comic shop. I always enjoyed drawing the characters in my favorite books and then around the early 90's I got into garage models. I did alot of these pieces and won several awards at various modeling and comic book conventions. I still have a tremendous love of these figure model kits. A few years ago I stopped painting altogether. For various reasons the last 6 years of my life have been the toughest yet and somewhere along the way I lost sight of the things I enjoyed. The hobbies I had all my life. Recently I've started creating again, not just the custom figures but really painting again. The figures and models are just a hobby I enjoy doing for fun. I'm popping back into the local comic book shops and attending conventions again. I'm happy to be back enjoying the love of comics and sci-fi. I hope to meet alot of people here that share my same interests and hopefully make some new friends that have a passion for this type of stuff. Feel free to drop me a line. - RayWhat Is a Custom Figure????????? Well, a cusom action figure is an action figure you won't find in stores. They are toys that are altered by sculpting and painting to create a different figure. Some customs are simple; like adding metal accessories or changing the color of a costume. Some are advanced like adding lights or taking figures apart resculpting them and making an entirely different action figure!!! Why, would anyone do this? Maybe you want something unique, a one of a kind toy of your favorite character or maybe even a custom figure of yourself !! There are lots of reasons for customizing figures. There are alot of great characters out there who will never be made into toys and customizing lets you have those figures. Check out the pics of some of my stuff and let me know what you think.
