New Hampshire Show Going to Off-Broadway in NYC!!!
New Hampshire’s Pirate Stage Company, (winner of 4 NH Theatre awards in 2006 including Best Musical ) will be taking their newest production of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” to Off-Broadway in May!
After the show finishes its run in Portsmouth, NH (April 19-22nd) at Bourbon’s Rock Club at the Muddy River Smokehouse, the cast and crew will start preparing for NYC, where they will rock the house May 31st- June 2nd in the heart of the Theatre District, at the Theatre @ St. Clements, on 46th Street.
“Hedwig” is being directed by Brett Mallard and stars local actors Billy Butler (fresh off his win of the 2006 Best Actor in a Musical ) in the title role and Jennifer Mallard (winner of the 2006 Best Supporting Actress in a Musical) as Yitzhak, along with a fantastic four-piece rock band.
“It is incredibly rare for a New Hampshire-based community theatre to have an opportunity to perform Off-Broadway. It’s unheard of! It’s quite crazy, actually! We are so excited and we’re definitely going to make the most of it,” says producer, Kevin Roberge.
