Co-Founding member of Orange County punk pioneers,
The Detours, established in July of 1977,wreaking havoc on and off for the better part of 4 1/2 years (along with Rikk Agnew, Jeff Beans, Casey Royer {78-80} and Mike Koerber ). Overcoming addiction, loss, incarceration, failed relationships, their own rebelious children, and an uncanny ability to despise each other, The Detours manage to reunite for a series of shows in late 2006 that bring to mind a simpler time and the music that signaled a generation's call to mobilize in OC over 30 years ago. Within this crucible was formed the signature OC sound, and from its desintegration saw the direct rise of 2 bands: the Adolescents, and later DI . Early albums from both bands benefited from The Detours set list rich with songs that have withstood the test of time as punk standards.
