Ask me where I am from and I will only be able to recite a monologue of the many locations where I have lived, all of which were merely places to rest. I have no "home" per se, however I feel more at ease and more welcomed while I am traveling than in the place where I reside. This has always seemed to be the case, and so I have become, the Schizophrenic Geographer. I study the relationship between humans and their environments, the "why" of "where". This is my field of research, and I love what I do.
I have tasted that which Mexico has to offer and thirst for more. After traversing five states of this country, experiencing the various cultures, and witnessing the globalization taking place via NAFTA, PPP, and Coca-Cola(as well as other mechanisms) I feel that with the knowledge I hold, I cannot remain silent. We are all called upon to do something with ourselves in this world, I am compelled to continue my research in Mexico and present my findings to others, this will perhaps lead me to other parts of the world.I have presented my findings on Globalization in Mexico alongside my former partner-in-crime while at the California Geographical Society's Annual Conference in the Spring and plan to present an updated paper at the East Lakes Division of the Association of American Geographers conference in Toledo this Fall. This is only the beginning...

Ahhhh it burns!!!!

So I'm making my almost-famous five-bean chili tonight...I cut up some jalapenos and seranos...and unfortunately forgot to wash my hands afterwards...I just rubbed my nose and it burns!!! OH THE HUMAN...

I love the smell of humus in the morning

That's hyou-muss as in the black gook that is the remainder of decaying organic matter, not the garlicy garbanzo dip. But yes, I think humus smells good, it's the smell of fall, a time when life comes...
