About Me

Ummm, let's see...I grew up in Illinois and NEVER thought I'd move to Wisconsin but find myself loving it here (although I will always be a Chicago sports fan). I moved to Racine summer of '04 and couldn't be happier (as bizarre as that sounds). As if getting divorced in January 2004 wasn't a big enough life change I had to throw in changing jobs and moving to a new state. Not one to do it the easy way.

My Interests

Going to concerts; watching sports both on television and in person (I am a huge Bears, Cubs and Bulls fan); reading; drinking a well made Long Island Ice Tea; Bascom Hill shows; hanging with friends; and protecting the environment.

Music:

Just about anything & everything:

U2; Tom Petty; Beatles; Rolling Stones; Pearl Jam; Bascom Hill; Green Day; Foo Fighters; Weezer; Dave Matthews Band; Fleetwood Mac; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Eminem; Ludacris; Bon Jovi; 3 Doors Down; Staind; Goo Goo Dolls; Madonna; CCR; Jon Troast; Daughtry; Queen; Butch Walker; The Police; and Johnny Cash.

Movies:

Twelve Angry Men; Crash; Steel Magnolias; Fight Club; The Patriot; Gone with the Wind; Grease; Shawshank Redemption; Coal Miner's Daughter; Tombstone; Old School; The Last of the Mohicans; Usual Suspects; Reservoir Dogs; American History X; Braveheart; Rounders; Goodfellas; Forrest Gump; The Fugitive; Friday; Goonies; Lost Boys; Saw; Scream (all 3); Sleepers; Pirates of the Caribbean (all 3); Oceans Eleven & Twelve; and almost every animated Walt Disney movie ever made.

Of course, there's always the classics like: Monty Python and the Holy Grail; Caddyshack; Sixteen Candles; Breakfast Club; Blues Brothers; What About Bob; The Outsiders; Fletch, National Lampoon's Vacation movies; Ferris Bueller's Day Off; Midnight Run; and Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Television:

The Sopranos; Lost; Prison Break; The Shield; The Amazing Race; Boston Legal; and October Road.

Books:

I read voraciously and average 2 books a week. I read mostly fiction although I do read the occasional biography. My favorites include To Kill a Mockingbird and Wuthering Heights, both of which I read in high school but still haven't read anything better.

Other favorite books include: Ten Thousand Sorrows; Flags of Our Fathers; Music for Torching; The Poisonwood Bible; A Fine Balance; and Atlas Shrugged.

There are also the many novels recently made into movies: Memoirs of a Geisha; House of Sand and Fog; The Hours; and Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.

My favorite all time authors include: Dostoyevski; Henry James; Jane Austin; Thomas Hardy; Edgar Allen Poe; John Steinbeck; and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I also enjoy just about anything from the following contemporary authors: A.M. Homes; David Sedaris; Toni Morrison; Elizabeth Berg; Anita Shreve; Nicci French; Janet Evanovich; and Alice Hoffman.

Heroes:

My mom.
