MR. RANK

mario rank was born in 1980 in vienna. collecting rare hip hop vinyls and playing them in different locations was his calling.
gripped by the euphoria around the downbeat scene in the 90´s he started to expand his interest in music which resulted in a constantly growing record collection.
in the year 2000 he became acquainted with ibrahim khafagi, a graphic designer with a faible, like him, for good sound and music. since then they are dj-partners and known by the name of "rankhafagi". in clubs all over vienna they succeed in satisfying their guests with finest selected sets ranging from downbeat to nujazz, funk as well as from latin and oriental to dub and stomping housebeats.

together rankhafagi made the by parov stelar high acclaimed webmix "e.jazz.session". in 2006 mr.rank started to produce music by himself and works on his first official release. his project for 2007 is called www.souljazzclub.com
