Founded in Cedar Lake, Indiana and operating nationally, Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization comprised of a network of rescue volunteers throughout the US and Canada. We are dedicated to finding good homes and matching White Shepherds and White German Shepherds in need with loving people that will love their dog as part of their family. Our mission is to place homeless dogs into loving and permanent homes, to educate the public about the breed, promote responsible pet care, and to provide ongoing training support and advice to adopters after our dogs have been placed in their new homes. Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue is a foster home based organization. We do not operate a shelter. The temperment and behavior of each dog is carefully evaluated while they are in foster care so that we can match each dog with a home best suited to meet their particular needs. I am also involved in Fur Angels Animal Sanctuary. Amber and I work to place dogs that may not have a chance anywhere else. With Amber being deaf, she understands how that is held against people and how difficult it can be. This is even more difficult with animals. Many animals are put to sleep just because they are deaf and their owners just don't know how to deal with them. We take them in and train them the correct way. By using only positive reinforcement and adding American Sign Language into their training, we have helped the dogs in our program become better equipped to be a part of the family. They can learn just as well as any other dog. Animals base all of their communication on body language. It comes naturally to them to take to hand signals as commands. I am also a volunteer for Cast-A-Way Cats. We are a local cat rescue dedicated to finding new homes for some of the many homeless cats and kittens out there. Please join us at Petco in Merrillville on US 30. We are there every other Saturday from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm
