At this moment in the heart of Cheshire there are melodies floating around the small, pine-finished practice space of an attic. Those being of Northwich duo Saving Grace who are now inviting you to climb the stairs and take a listen. The focus has always been on the song writing and close vocal harmonies from Peter Griffin (guitar/vocals) and Mark Armor (bass/vocals/keys), who have been writing together for the past four years. Their sound conveys an honest description of life experiences told through oblique lyrics. Making personal reference to working-class life, the band tell their stories through poignant imagery and delicate melodies. Their musical inspiration is taken from artists such as The Finn Brothers, Brian Wilson, Elvis Costello and the more folk orientated likes of Nick Drake.
Feeling confident they are sitting on a family of songs that can please a wide range of listeners, the aim for Saving Grace now is to attract interest within the industry and to build a solid fan base. They are now busy writing and recording as many songs as possible over the course of the year before looking to move onto touring with established acts of a similar nature.
So far, Saving Grace have performed over 250 live shows including a recent national tour supporting Elliot Minor. Despite not currently being on a booking agency, their persistence and determination earned the band main support on the tour. The band received an excellent response, playing to sold out audiences in academy venues. Their captivating and focused live performances tell a great story. The band have also played two full tours in Italy (promoting an Italian split EP release). In 2005 they recorded "The Blackjack City Street Sensation", an album which was self-released by the band in independent stores and has sold over 500 copies.
With combined strengths of creativity and hard work, Saving Grace have found their natural rhythm for song writing. The work ethos and raw talent of the band has been recognised by several people working within music management who are currently providing the band with guidance. They are still looking for someone to fill the management position on a permanent basis.
