After 10-years membership of singing with Selwyn Rawls & The Eternal Light Community Singer of New York And a 9-year membership with Hezekiah Walker’s Love Fellowship Crusade Choir, Kenny Fripp emerges from the shadows of the gospel industry to take his place as a solo artist. The choirs have afforded him major opportunities, including national and international travel, media exposure and numerous studio sessions. He’s been blessed to work with some of the greatest names in both the gospel and secular music industry; Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Sting, Hootie & the Blowfish, Will Smith, P. Diddy Combs, Faith Evans, 112, Shirley Caesar and BeBe & CeCe Winans , Vickie Winans, Dottie Peoples, Fred Hammond, Donald Lawrence, Ray Charles , Brandy , J. Moss, Kirk Franklin, Carl Thomas to name a few.
The second oldest of six children, Kenny was introduced to gospel music at a young age by his grandmother. His love for music was birthed out of mere exposure to his church’s children choir under the direction of Glenda Monsanto and to the mass of singing talent that filled his family’s lineage. But it didn’t stop there. It returned to his home, where he convinced his brother's and sisters to become his choir and practice group we were The Jackson 5 and The Osmond Family all in one. These practice sessions proved quite fruitful, leading to solos before audiences in New York’s largest venues including Madison Square Garden, Radio City, Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.
Kenny showed much promise and was filled with great vision. In addition, his singing talent met diversity.
Now confidently, the singer/songwriter will bring his uniqueness to hearts of many. His love for God has compelled him to devote himself to the ministry of God’s Word and His music.
Kenny has been the Minister of Music at his church The New Hope S.D.A. Church now for over 20 years some of his duties at the church is forming the choirs of the church adult and children's choir. Choosing all of the hymns and music for the church leading out in all of the music in the church. Putting on special programs at the church through out the year.
Why now? Well, because this is God’s promised time!
