CTHRU27 - (2001-2006)

About Me

CTHRU27 Formed in 2001 and performed up until the end of 2006......
Heres what some people said about us:
"Sounds Like a cross between the Beastie Boys & The Streets, Lovely Stuff!". (Mark Chapman - "A")
"This is a first class act with really good musicianship who very successfully combine elements of rap, hip hop, rock and more besides to create their own uniquely devastating sound." (Neon promotions)
"Genre defying tidal wave of energy that attacks with infectious rhythms" (East Anglia Music Archive)
***** 5/5
But the real stars of this release are Lowestoft's CTHRU27, whose Radio..N is a superb and edgy rap/rock amalgm about rural isolation which never veers into hoodie-clad cliche territory. Remember the name!
(east anglian daily press - Stayin in )
Rounding up the pack Cthru27 in passing described by As Mark Chapman as a cross between the Beastie Boys and the Streets and hell we couldnt put it better ourselves if we tried. Radio N is taken from the Lowestoft sextets debut self financed 6 track EP out now (which incidentally you may be wise to hunt down if this is anything to go by) a hearty mix of pared down Black Grape and Flowered Up antics with the subtle addition of the cock sure street cred attitude of Sandinista era Clash set alight by an eye watering moment of Holiday in Cambodia style riff tastic classicism damn these kids with their top tunes. Essential stuff of course.
