About Me

Hullo, time to update the blurb! My name is Silke and I live in New Zealand now. I like it better here than Germany in many ways, especially the weather and the light. If you're from here you might not notice that the colours here seem more intense than elsewhere. I like that. I like being near the beaches, to get those spectacular sunsets, to be all wussy and get out the winter blankets as soon as the temperature falls below 20 degrees celsius and I like NZ music. Even back in Germany I thought there was huge talent around these parts of the world.I try to earn my money as designer (speciality multimedia and communication, that's my degree) and sometimes there are jobs, sometimes there aren't. I like jobs with nice people. That's most important. I'd do any job if people around me are nice. I especially like jobs that are marketing and design at the same time.I do my bits and bobs at 95bfm, write the breakfast news once a week, take care of a whole lot of pre-press, make flyers, help out with events and marketing wherever needed and sometimes I am given a microphone and asked to fill the frequency with some music and words! 95bFM is a great spot to be, come and poke your head in one of these days!In another life I was a music journalist, I was working on an actual career in radio. I did some really interesting things, met a LOT of people. Somewhere in a box on an attic in Germany are photo albums full of memories (I've always been a photographer, too). Then you move to NZ and no one cares about what you've done before. But nevermind, here's to new beginnings!Oh and hey, if you need someone possibly not unlike me in your company, maybe I am looking for a job the moment you're reading this, so why not drop me a line? For the bored: My Blog at Livejournal

My Interests

Music, concerts, singing, reading A LOT, hanging out with friends, beach and sea, travelling if my finances let me, walking around, nature, talking and listening, laughing, daytripping, writing...

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who don't take themselves to seriously, who enjoy good music and love concerts, who are not ashamed to have a good public laugh or just be silly, who are down to earth and did I mention like music?

In Germany most of my friends were working for the radio or stuff like that - that seemed to work out well somehow, don't know what it is. Maybe radio people are all crazy (which i consider as.. um.. good and interesting I suppose)

I'd like to get to know a few people in NZ who can relate to my experiences in life, touring with bands, radio, interviews, hundreds and hundreds of concerts, how it feels to stand next to David Bowie and stuff

Most of all I am not looking for people who think of themselves as cool. I am not cool, will never be and don't want to be cool either. I just want to have a good time and not to worry about cool.
