In Memoriam - Album In Stores March 29th

About Me

I am not the band, just a fan who wants to support Living Sacrifice.

When Little Rock, Arkansas’ Living Sacrifice formed in 1989, the members had no idea the impact they would have on the evolving metal scene. However, in the midst of their career spanning over a decade, Living Sacrifice became not only influential to up-and-coming acts, but innovators to an entire genre as well. Fusing a heavy metal base with a hardcore flair, albums like 1997’s Reborn and 2000’s The Hammering Process quickly became anthems for heavy music fans around the world.

Over the years, Living Sacrifice released six albums, charted several times on CMJ’s Loud Music Charts and toured with bands ranging from POD to Hatebreed. Metal publications were also eager to praise the band for their ingenious, tight live shows. Metal Maniacs, for example, claimed, “Living Sacrifice has always been a band on the brink of that elusive next level.” While Mean Street raved, “The fact that the band has paid their dues is truly evident in the skill of their playing.”

Unfortunately, with the lives of the band taking shape as well, the demise of Living Sacrifice transpired in 2003, after 7 years on the Solid State label. With the end of an era materializing, fans feared they had heard the last of new music from the group.

Now, almost two years after the Living Sacrifice break-up, Solid State Records announces its tribute to the life of one of its founding and most beloved groups. “In Memoriam” will contain some of Living Sacrifice’s greatest hits along with three brand new, recently recorded songs as well.

“Doing these songs was a good excuse to get together with Rocky (Gray – guitarist) and Lance (Garvin – percussion) in the studio again,” Explains LS frontman, Bruce Fitzhugh. “Plus I really felt like a release like this would be better for fans if there was some new material.”

Look for “In Memoriam” to hit stores everywhere March 29th!
