Gemy is a band formed by 3 friends who actually met in another musicproject called Blobslime, in 1995. It was love at first sight when me, (Jenny), Lasse & Daniel decided to play together. I had just started writing songs & before you knew it, we had our first gig!
The name of the band is easy to remember if you get the story behind it. The trio had a mutual friend who was spelling quite badly. He wrote my (Jenny)..name with a G instead of a J & the two N..s were soon to become one M & there it was. Gemy. A nickname for Jenny.
It did not take long before Gemy was knowned to be an excellent liveact with lots of vocals & percussion.
A couple of years later we did an EP which included 6 songs. The cd got good reviews in the paper.
But Gemy also had an urge to do a "complete" cd & at that time we got in contact with a recordlable called Orkan Music. Gemy started making the album, "Fresh water, fresh blood" which was released in december 2003.
The single "Aha, love" was a bit of success. It was played on the radio & even on TV when the song/video managed to reach a number 6 on the "MTVUpnorth-list" that spring. Since then, Gemy have been increasing the band with a couple of more people: on bass: Gian Kündig & on guitar: Henrik "Pilen" Pilquist.Jenny: a christmasfanatic who, besides writing songs, also is making my own jewellery, badges & plastic bead plates under the name "Konnekin" (a website will soon pop up). I..m also working on some children stories...Lasse: a motorcycleexpert who has been travelling the 7 seas. He has a cat with no ears & no tail & a couple of years ago you could see him in a number of sketches in Swedish television.Daniel: a semi-english Zappa-freak who enjoys computergames & good food.
