Formed in early '97 in Livingston, Overspill take there name from Livingston's purpose, a new town built for the overspill of people from Glasgow & Edinburgh and also reflects on one of the numerous punk bands that were born in Livi, the Skroteez who had released an 'overspill' ep with a photo of Livi in its infancy. The initial line-uo, as with most bands some members have also been in or are still involved with other groups such as the Exploited, Skroteez, Barbed Wire, Happy Spastics, Bakers Dozen most of which are still playing today. So hard punk is the vein - we aim to please.
Used to play regular, especially in Edinburgh & Lothian’s area, many a time in the gone but not forgotten Tap'O'Lauriston pub in Edinburgh. a regular venue for alternative bands from all over the UK/Europe until its demise when they built a hotel on this Mecca of culture. A running theme these days. The band have also played up and down the country from Dundee to London, always willing to travel. The last year has seen a line-up change same, our first drummer Stu back with us with Gogs leaving the drum stool to take on one of the guitars alongside whoever can make it, Chick or Gus with Frank on Bass. The 2 gits on vocals are still here.An 8 track professionally recorded demo - 'Kono Yaroo!' (meaning basically fuck you in Japanese-what an insult apparently) from Edinburgh's Pier House studio. Get a cheap copy upon request. 4 of the tracks were released as a ltd.(500) 7" vinyl single 'Who's War' on Scotland's Intimidation records and a couple made it to compilations.
