Hilary - Photographer and Preservationist

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a historic photographer, both love and photograph cemeteries, and am passionate about historic preservation. With a Bachelors of Fine Arts (Studio Art/Photography) under my belt I plan to eventually pursue a Masters in Public History. I enjoy traditional arts such as calligraphy, illumination, and film photography. I've enjoyed dabbling a little in traditional letterpress work, book binding, and while I was no good at it I also liked using a kick wheel for pottery. I don't actually like making pottery at all (I'm seriously no good at it) but the kick wheel was a blast.
I'm a Sci-Fi/Fantasy reading, RPG playing, cult film watching nut that is very secure in my own geekdom. My favorite place outside of the cemetery and the darkroom is the used bookstore. Searching for books at a used bookstore is like a huge game. You never know when you will find what you want, and you never know when you'll find something you didn't "know" you wanted. If it weren't for such stores I would have never found some of my favorite authors. Plus, frequenting used bookstores helps promote and support a local business which I am all for :)

My Interests

Book Arts, Calligraphy, Cemeteries, Darkroom Work, Photography, and enjoying a hot cup of tea out on the front porch.
Historical Preservation - if we don't do it ourselves, it won't be there for our children.
