I am here for Friends

About Me

This is my life, my heritage; from whence I came and how I live - I am proud to be of and from the Spartan culture; for there is none better.A feared and revered military king of the Greek city-state of Sparta, Leonidas rules with the guidance and support of his queen, Gorgo. "Gorgo is, by all accounts, brilliant," says Miller. "She and Leonidas watch each other's backs and she is a great contributor to his strategic thinking. There is a great depth of emotion and intellectual partnership between them. Spartan women are Spartan warriors just like the men. They send the men out first, but you'll see in the movie that the women can play pretty tough, too."OUR RACE IS OUR NATIONLeonidas: "You insult my Queen!"The Best Trailer, yet:Leonidas (Greek: - "Lion's son", "Lion-like") was a king of Sparta, the 17th of the Agiad line. He was one of the sons of King Anaxandridas II of Sparta, descendant of Heracles. He succeeded, probably in 489 or 488 BC, his half-brother Cleomenes I, whose daughter Gorgo he married. In 480 the ephors sent Leonidas with the 300 men of an all-sire unit (soldiers who had sons to carry on their bloodline) and 4000 allies to hold the pass of Thermopylae against the army of Xerxes of Persia. (Battle of Thermopylae). According to a contemporary story, Leonidas took only a small force because he was deliberately going to his doom: an oracle had foretold that Sparta could be saved only by the death of one of its kings. Instead it seems likely that the ephors supported the plan half-heartedly due to the festival of Carneia and their policy of concentrating the Greek forces at the Isthmus of Corinth.FRANK MILLER COMIC BOOKS 300 Spartan : Set in the midst of the Persian-Greco war during the Battle of Thermopylae, where Spartan king Leonidas led his army of 300 soldiers into battle against the invading Persian army. According to legend, their valor and sacrifice inspired all of Greece to unite against their Persian foe, leading to the origins of democracy. It was the Spartan women that Greek men thought were the most beautiful. Spartan women took care of their bodies and were fit.SPARTANS ARE THE GREATEST WARRIORS WHO EVER LIVED - That's a fact. We give birth to men, and the world knows it. There are none like the Spartans, they may come close, but they'll never be the same. The 5th Century battle of Thermopylae where 300 Spartans faced and held back thousands of soldiers in the Persian army. The ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas, my husband, and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against the Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy.EPITAPH AT THERMOPYLAE: Four thousand of us fought three million. When you visit Sparta, tell them: Here, the soldiers kept their word.
