my name is scott free althought most of my friends call me suede...its a bit like having a split personality !! im an artist and what i paint depends entirely on what mood im in...which changes with monotonous regularity throughout the day ! my favorites are my little surreal pop images painted in oils on canvas that tell the tales of my childhood and dreams.they are from a series called "black and blue"... "beware the charms of certain men that wear their smile askew, they'll taunt you with their deviled words and beat you black and blue..." the paintings are brightly coloured and look cute and humorous but do reveal a much darker side the deeper you look...as do i. i had the misfortune of being born in singleton. a small army base town in rural NSW australia . but thankfully when i was a year old my parents relocated to rabaul, a town situated on the lush , tropical island of new britain in papua new guinea. i grew up in a village called "kabakada"...the tolai peoples word for a young coconut... and when i was 15, wild, and out of control i was sent to a catholic boarding school in sydney...and then everything went pairshaped! however, it wasnt long before i escaped the evil clutches of marist brotherly love and fled into the world of disco heaven. where i found myself. bursting with ideas.i did everything from hair dressing to fashion design and finally fell into my stongest passion of all... painting. ://lads.myspace.com/photoshow/slideshow.swf" /
