Nick Hussey is a hard working, jobbing DJ/songwriter/producer/remixer who has been very prolific on the house scene. It all started for Nick in the hey-day of 1987, and that unforgettable venue, The Hacienda. Nick recalls, “For about three years we had a party every time the Hacienda was open – up to 400 hundred people crammed into two flats. Eventually we got a pneumatic drill and smashed the walls down and made two flats into one and called it The Kitchens . I started DJ'ing by default really because there was nobody else to put records on. I had no plans to DJ it was more a case that I was the guy who knew what the records were.â€The whole DJ thing escalated and before Nick knew it, he found himself not only playing records, but also venturing into the world of record production and songwriting. After spinning the decks until the wee small hours, Nick would return to his flat and experiment with his keyboard. After only having one piano lesson in his life, it's amazing that he came up with one of the catchiest piano hooks connected to the house scene: Awesome3 – Don't Go , was Nick's creation, and reached number 1 in the dance charts! That piano lesson certainly paid off!!After the success of Don't Go , Nick was asked to collaborate with Jodeci , Crystal Waters and even The Charlatans . He has had 9 number 1's in the dance charts, and 3 number 1's in the national charts. Nick is also responsible for tracks such as: Sweet Mercy – Take Me Away , Soft House Co. – What You Want , F.P.I. Project – Rich in Paradise , Blast – Crazy Man , and Living Joy – I'm A Dreamer.
