WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO PRAISE THOSE WHO ARE FROM THE COMMUNITY THAT ARE DOING POSITIVE THINGS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO USED BASKETBALL AS AN ENAGEMENT TOOL TO FUTHER THEIR LIVES BY GRADUATION FROM SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, AND UNIVERSITIES. WE REALLY APPREIATE THAT…..FOR REAL!Recognize The Real is a non-for-profit grass roots organization from the Jane/Finch community in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The mission of Recognize the Real is to transform lives and strengthen communities by promoting social progress within our society, and merging the love of basketball with a program that edifies education and teaches life skill development. We feel it is important that we focus our attention on the “youths of tomorrow,” that way we can create a better community, society and generations.Service areas are:•Up Top: Comprises anything north of Finch, particularly the housing complexes on Driftwood Ave., Driftwood Ct., Shoreham Ct., and Gosford Blvd •Down Bottom: Anything south of Finch, including the housing on Driftwood Ave. at Grandravine Rd., Yorkwoods Gate, Firgrove Cres., Yellowstone St., and The Grassways •Connection: The Grassways housing complex at Firgrove Cres. and Jane St., so-called because the housing units are all connected. Others say the name also refers to the complex's reputation for being a connection point for links •The Lane: The housing at Driftwood Ave. and Grandravine Rd.
