Live music, renegade-style road side rescuing of the homeless, travel, my doggies, The Gay MEN in my Life, weekend excursions, poetry, soul-searching, good Chicago Blues on a Saturday night at 3:00am. Outdoor activities not involving rattlesnakes or mountain lions, water sports in speed boats, not in pantoons. Live theatre and 70's cartoons and on occassion-disturbing movies.
Playing my 12 string so hard I break strings singing songs I wrote about him. Hanging out in Malibu, beaches, roadtrips with AAA, driving in cars with boys, limo service, 90 minute massages that kick my ass, champagne, gospel brunches, good friends and being thrilled.
I'd like to meet:
I've pretty much met my wish list with Joan Jett and the Dhali Llama being on the top of that list but there are few of them still out there. Definately would like to time travel and party with the dead. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jesus--the real rawknrollers. As of recent, Tiffanie DeBartola, a really cool new author I've been reading lately. I'm also kinda intrigued by Jackie Werner of Workout but that could potentially be life-altering for me, and push me over the edge so I might want to re-think that one *winks* SO I'll stick to what I know: Musicians and earth angels full of integrity who live to lift people up, not tear them apart with unkind, or selfish words/actions. Ambitous networking types. And anyone with the courage to chase down their demons and dreams. Personality is fun, but character is far more important. I'm friends with babies, doggies and 93 year old Grandfathers. The soul is beautiful when exposed with honesty and openess.
Music:
Here we go-everything from Rock, to Reggae, to punk, to blues, to gospel, to Hip-Hop, Jazz, to straight up POP and everything in betweem. Motown moves me. Sinatra woos me. Reggae soothes me. The Blues owns me and Rawknroll thrills me.
My Guitar Hereos: Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Dick Dale, Eric Clapton, Eric Gales & Bradley Nowell
Attended my first rock concert at the age of 7 years old to see KISS, back in the day when Gene Simmons was an action figure I took to school as a show and tell piece. Blondes have More Fun, by Rod Stewart was one of my first albums I owned, another show and tell piece that I took to school and inevitably ended up getting sent home with a note to my parents that I had shared "Adult material" with my 2nd grade class.
Major musical influences in my life have been: Joan Jett, Rod Stewart, Buddy Guy, Neil Diamond, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Kiss, AC/DC, Bob Marley, Eric Clapton, Motown and Sublime.
"The day that I die will be the day that I shut my mouth and put down my guitar."
--Bradley Nowell, Sublime
