La historia de la "Elephant Band" empieza en "Los Nuestros", grupo del que Nacho era cantante y Xoel, guitarrista. A la vez, Xoel tocaba la guitarra y cantaba en otra banda, "The Riddles", banda de la que Fernando era el teclista. Pasado algún tiempo, Nacho y Xoel entraron a formar parte de la banda mod coruñesa, "Los Covers", con la que grabarÃan un EP y varios temas para recopilatorios. Al mismo tiempo, Fernando pasaba a formar parte de "Los nuestros".
Tras la separación de "Los Covers" (en el verano de 1996), Xoel, Nacho y Fernando junto con Marcos (baterÃa de "The Riddles") decidieron ensayar juntos, formando el embrión de lo que posteriormente serÃa la "Elephant Band". Poco después y ya con Ramón como baterÃa se formó la banda, llamándose en un principio "Elephant truck band".
Con este nombre empiezan los primeros ensayos donde además de versionar grandes temas como "A quick one" de "The Who" y "Rain" de "The Beatles", empiezaron a surgir los primeros temas propios como "I've been wasting my time" o "Someday".
Ya con el nombre definitivo de "Elephant Band" empizaron a dar sus primeros conciertos; era el año 97. Comenzaron entonces a tocar por toda España, llegando a tocar en prestigiosos festivales, tanto nacionales ("II mod international festival purple weekend" en León) como internacionales ("Man from unkle festival" en Alemania o "Isle if Wight" en Inglaterra), ganándose la fama de grupo de buen directo, asi como, de grupo juerguista donde los hubiera.
Incluso participaron tocando en directo en varios programas de televisiones autonómicas, destacando su participación junto al grupo "Dover" en "Chambo", programa de la TVG.
El adiós definitivo de la banda se produce en Marzo del 2001. Tras la disolución de la banda, sus miembros empezaron otros proyectos:
Xoel formó el grupo DELUXE , y junto a Felix Arias, en paralelo un grupo con aires folk LOVELY LUNA , Nacho, tras su paso por "Triceratops" decide montar un grupo orientado al power pop/punk, al cual se une Ramón, que hasta entonces habÃa sido baterÃa de "Mistakens" MEU y Fernando entra a formar parte del combo psicodélico MEGA PURPLE SEX TOY KIT , donde también milita Marcos Santome (quien en su dia fuera "road manager" de la "Elephant Band" y formara parte de "Los Yetis"). Actualmente Saleta y Fernando participan en un nuevo proyecto WOOCAKE

The history of “Elephant Band†begins with the band "Los Nuestrosâ€, in that band Nacho was the singer and Xoel played the guitar. At the same time, Xoel sang and played the guitar in another band, "The Riddles", band in which Fernando played the organ. Time passed by and Nacho and Xoel began to be a part of a mod band from A Coruña, "Los Covers", with this band they recorded an EP and some song for compilations. At the same time, Fernando began to be a part of "Los Nuestros".
After the broken-up of "Los Covers" (summer of 96), Xoel, Nacho y Fernando joined Marcos (who used to play drums in "The Riddles"), and they decided to practise together, that will be the germ of what later will be the "Elephant band". Later, with Ramón as drummer, the band was formed, and at first time it was called "Elephant truck band"
Under this name they began to practice, playing covers of great songs as “A quick one†from “The Who†and “Rain†from “The Beatlesâ€, and their first own songs begin to come up as “I've been wasting my Time†or “Somedayâ€.
With the definitive name of “Elephant Band†, they begin to give their first concerts; it was 1997. Then, they played all over Spain, even in some prestigious festivals, national (“II mod international festival purple weekend†in Leon) and even international (“Man from unkle festival†in Germany or “Isle if Wight†in England), reknown as their good live acts, as well as, for being one of the best group of fun-loving people.
They even participated playing songs live in several programs of autonomic televisions, emphasizing their participation with the band “Dover†in “Chamboâ€, program of the TVG.
Their definitive good bye takes place in March of 2001. After the dissolution of the band, their members began own personal projects:
