About Me

Basketball practice has begun at Signal Mountain High School. I will be coaching there with Wes Moore this year. Needless to say, I am excited about it. While there is a lot of work to do to get ready for the season, we have begun the process of building a new program. The new TSSAA summer rules make the summer preparation much different that I have experienced in the past. We can practice until June 22. We are going to team camp at UTC. I spent the past few months interviewing and seeing what door the Lord would open. That process has come to a conclusion. I am thankful for the new opportunity. We will work hard to be the best we can be. Count on that. 12 - 94- 24 (32)... Keep on keeping on..."I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord -- plans for peace and not for evil to give you an expected end." -- Jeremiah 29:11I coached middle school boys' basketball for all 21 years I taught. God has blessed us by allowing us to play in the T.V.A.C. Tournament Championship Game four times in six years. We have won 2 T.V.A.C. Championships in those years.I run two eBay businesses: CyberPCs and LookoutDeals. I continue to be amazed how eBay allows a school teacher to compete on the big stage (the Internet). I have shipped products all over the world.

My Interests

Coaching Basketball, Buying and reselling on eBay and the Internet, Drinking Diet Cokes, and last but not least, eating (I seldom miss meals).

I'd like to meet:

Jesus -- I look forward to the day when I see Him face to face. I won't be worthy, but that won't matter to Him.George W. Bush -- I would like to thank him for making decisions based on what he thinks is right and sticking with them no matter what public opinion might be.Larry Bird -- I am a die-hard Boston Celtics' fan no matter what their record is or who the players on the team are. Bird, Magic, and Jordan were the NBA. Today, the league lacks that kind of leadership.Osama bin Laden -- If he is alive (and the jury is out on that) I would like to make him pay for his actions on September 11, 2001.

24 -- Without a doubt the best show on T.V. Watching the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is a close second. American Justice, Cold Case, City Confidential, and First 48 are some others.

Books:

I have never liked to read. The first book I ever received as a kid I put in my toy chest. Yes, I didn't read Great Expectations in 9th grade even though my parents thought I did.

Heroes:

Jesus (He loves me unconditionally)...My Dad (If I am half the man he is I will consider myself thankful)...Ronald Reagan (Taught me patriotism and restored confidence in our nation when we needed it most)...D. James Kennedy (My pastor...dedicated his life to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation on the earth...He went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 5, 2007)...Carol Neal (My 6th Grade Teacher -- She is the Renoir of teachers -- So much of the teacher I am I stole from her example)
