About Me

hell on wheels

My Interests

i hear i like pressing the issue...as if there's one, single, unitary issue? as if we telescope so neatly? 2 dimensions or 3 is a trap. go ask my girl luce...but for real: i'm interested in the nature of consciousness, raccoons, butoh dance, comix, making things, polari, the absent referent, sweet potato fries, bike-ridin', heck-raisin', boundary-blurrin', and causing a cozy condition. ask anyone.

I'd like to meet:

raccoons, mostly.

Music:

now that i can make my iPod work, it's a blur of dionne warwick, ella fitzgerald, the cranium, clash bootlegs, the kinks, billy bragg, mc lyte, kurtis blow...i like lord brynner, mecca normal, red monkey, and harry belafonte. PS: i don't know why people talk so much smack about 7 seconds, since i think we'd do well to take the message of "walk together, rock together" to heart and to the streets. then again, i'm in a one-person band...

Movies:

when i was in 7th grade, i think, i decided that the keanu reeves movie "the prince of pennsylvania" ruled hardcore because it was boring and pointless. i still like slow, boring movies, but these days i'll tip the hat to "absolute beginners," "children of the revolution," "the dream lide of angels," "the band that would be king," and so forth. not that those are all boring or slow--but i still like that which is self-indulgent...

Books:

have you read laurie colwin's "more home cooking"? this woman can write about food, okay? i love that lynda barry, luce irigaray, jonathan kozol (cuz i'm a teacher-lady), paolo freire, bell hooks...c'mon, fill in the blanks! reading anything good lately?

My Blog

too much turtle

it's interesting what happens when you disconnect from reality in some ways, when you live in your head and nowhere else. i guess what i mean to say is that i _never_ entertained any fantasies of bei...

see, now i'm sorry

this friendster/myspace competition--and dual participation--have turned into a self-generated excuse for my bad behavior (and others', i'm thinking). after posting here on this network that an old--...

internet. easter. candy is delicious.

the thing i like about the internet is its potential for secreting away dense nuggets of text in all-too-forgettable locations. it's a perennial easter egg hunt. easter's a special time for my fam...
