I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm originally from the Las Vegas area and somehow ended up in the northwoods of Wisconsin. I am constantly amazed that two places in the same country could be so different.
While I always enjoy adding more people as friends on here, I have a rule against adding people who are obviously running "hook up" profiles that are devoted to just how much borderline (and sometimes not-so-borderline) porn they could fit on the screen. If your profile has animated gifs of jiggling backsides, naked chests of either gender, or in any way appears to have been made with your genitals, I won't add you. Unless you happen to already be a friend of mine, anyway, in which case I must already know you're a pervert.
I play with graphic design and search the Internet to find the ridiculous, the funny, and the scary, which often ends up getting reported here. Occasionally, I'll toss out a fabulously bizarre essay or observations on my daily life.
For fun, I write children's books about giant insects and create innocuous websites with naughty sounding names. I'm horrifically sardonic. In fact, you can trust nothing I say. I'm probably being sarcastic right now. Oh no!

My Interests

Web design, publishing, fantasy, sci-fi, sculpture, painting, poetry, religion/mythology, musical theatre, roleplaying, writing, happiness.

I'd like to meet:

God. Anyone else is just a detail.

Movies:

I'd tried to make a list of all of my favorite movies here, but found it difficult to keep updated. Most movies, I wait to watch them on DVD. Often, I'll get through about six DVDs a week, and I generally like all of them. There are very few movies that I don't enjoy in one capacity or another, simply because I'm a horrible movie-watching-companion and will talk throughout the whole thing if it's not good enough to keep my attention. If that's the case, I'll then make up entire subplots of my own and characters and backstories, and then fall in love with my version of the movie, which is invariably ten times better than the original.

Television:

Don't really watch it. I don't have the attention span for it.

Books:

If you're actually capable of listing all of the books you like, there's something wrong with you. Books are like little encapsulated universes, and should be collected and explored constantly. I have read and enjoyed far more books than I could ever possibly list.
I started out with the Roald Dahl and worked my way up to Stephen King by the time I was ten. Most books, I finish within a day or two, and so like any junky must constantly look for bigger and bigger scores to get my "fix."
Currently, I'm (re)reading the Bible, just because it's got lots and lots of words.

Heroes:

My mom.

Question

If you are a rock star, can you do things for no other reason than "because they're awesome" or do you have to have some sort of motive?I'm left wondering because of the most ridiculously huge live pe...

Ponderings

A long time back my old friend Jonathan had laughed at me when I told him I was going vegetarian. He didn't think I could do it. Instead, I've ended up almost entirely vegan. After thinking about it o...

The worst part about being sick

I have some sort of awful lung blech today and a fever. I feel all discombobulated and out of it, and vaguely as though I've inhaled water. The worst part is as tired as I am, as out of it as I am, I ...

More Light

Though winter has just begun, its death is already on the air. The nights are no longer growing longer, even if they might yet grow colder. Whatever holidays you celebrate, I hope they have ...

For those who didn’t know...

I've got a blog over on Blogspot that I update more frequently than this one. It's usually about music or movies (and often kind of gay), but I've got other things there, too. Like I just made my own ...
