About Me

Band Biography
Having string of high profile gigs behind them with high flyers such as Dartz!, Buen Chico, The Redwings, Silent Film Project, to name a few. Also being picked for various unsigned showcases around the North of England including the prestigious Panic/Futuresound nights at the Cockpit. And, also making it to Number ONE on the Channel 4 Unsigned Charts recently, The Vectors have made their mark on the West Yorkshire music scene within the past year and have a promising future.
Reviews
"Take a band such as The Vectors, a young group from a small town 40 miles west of Sheffield. With a population of just a few thousand, Halifax boasts of little more than a Tesco, Woolworths and a Post Office. It is part of Yorkshire and yet somehow, it doesn’t seem likely that the next big thing will come out of a town like this. They are a talented band with clever riffs and echoes of the Libertines in their music. They have been carting their equipment around and squeezing their kit into small corners of ancient pubs across the town since 2004. Sending the sound rushing down the wires and amplifying it around the room, attacking the strings with skilful consistency and spot on rhythm"

'Halifax is a large market town nestling in the West Riding. Hailing from this formidable district are The Vectors, a band who may well just have enough wit, energy and youthful vitality to see off less able contemporaries. All yet to complete their 'A' Levels, they have nevertheless picked up a sizeable following in their home town but have also travelled as far afield as Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield to envelop listeners' ears in their melodious vignettes of teenage trauma and small-town bigotry. True, their sound owes a lot to the Libertines, but their music is free of the occasionally pretentious flourishes Doherty and Barat were prone to. Ashley Baxendale's mournful vocals lament the usual teen dilemmas with a wryly tongue-in-cheek twist - "Only Morrissey could understand the way I feel" - but also take fierce stands against the injustices he sees around him - 'New Boy' is a caustic tale of small-town racism amongst today's youth. The Vectors possess all the verve and integrity one has come to expect from bands their age in the wake of Arctic Monkeys' success, and you would be well advised to invest in a few minutes' listening to their output and feel pretty smug about it later.'
