I was born in Meadowbrook, Long Island to Teresa & Wesley. I am the second of two children, both girls. My sister, (shown below) is as I like to call her, Brigeta pronounced Breehayta. My mother is American, born to Helen (of African/Iroqouis descent) and Charles (of African/European descent). My father is Barbadian, born to Nelly (of African/Arawak descent) and Vincent (of African/English descent). This conglomeration is how I became beautifully me.There are two things in life that grab at my heart and steal away most of my attention. These two things are history and music. I love history and study African-American, Caribbean and European history as a past-time. I've also studied history formally in college. I steadfastly work at tracing my own family history and I plan to have a complete legacy to pass down to the generations that follow. At this point in time, I can trace my family history back 3 generations on my mother's side and 4 from my father's....but I can't stop there.When I'm not studying or learning new things through research, I'm studying and learning new things through sound. Music. The earliest form of music that I ever listened to was calypso. Ras Isley, Gabby, song's like "T" and many more I can't recall name or artists, but their lasting effects of soul and "feel-good" are embedded within me. As a pre-teen, I became infected with a love for culture music. Of course, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. I was introduced to Hip-Hop, or then, Rap music as I grew older and formed relationships with schoolmates. My true love in the music realm is soca. For me, there is nothing more joyous than soca, well perhaps gospel, of which I am a definate fan also.History & Music - that's me in a nutshell.
