I served in the United States Air Force and with the Department of Defense for more than 15 years. I worked as everything from being a Military Training Instructor at two Squadrons and Administrative Support in the Evaluation and Scheduling Division at the ATC NCO Academy both at Lackland AFB, Texas to Non Commissioned Officer in Charge of Protocol at Osan AB, Korea and Headquarters, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. I then went on to work at the Federal Prison Camp at Maxwell AFB, AL, an Army Recruiting Battalion at Gunter AFB, AL and Environmental Management at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Through the aforementioned work, I've met one sitting President of the United States, four past Presidents, Several Chairman's of the Joint Chiefs of staff, more General Officers than I could ever count, Foreign Heads of State, Governors, Congressmen, Senators and even a few celebrities. But I always say, it's not as if they remember meeting me!

My crowning glory, however, was receiving my college degree and, in turn, becoming a Writer (currently working on two novels and several short stories), Writing Consultant, Teacher and Volunteer (teaching Creative Writing) at a local Prison. I've been published but nothing you've read (Operating Procedures, Rules and Regs, Standards, etc., for various companies). I expect to be an author of AT LEAST one bestseller someday.

AND...as of Sept '08, will begin attending Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids with plans of becoming a Prosecuting Attorney. SOOOOO looking forward to going back to school and beginnning the next 'chapter' of my life.

People I love include grown children Jessica, Jaclyn, Sarah and Russell, Jr., Russ, ex son-in-law, Neal (more like a son to me!), nephew, Jerime (like another son as well), brother-in-law, Adren and two grandchildren, Alexandria and Katelynn (They call me, "Miss Andria". After all, do I LOOK like a Grandmother to you?)

I may be 50 years old chronologically, but I'm told ALL THE TIME that I look like I'm in my late 30's or possibly early 40's. May sound superficial but I'd like to believe it's true and if so, all I can say is Thank GOD for great genetics! Treats I often give myself entail my love to travel alone several times a year to visit friends or my children. My favorite cities in the US are Grand Rapids, Metro Detroit Area, Honolulu, Chicago, Augusta, Cleveland and Las Vegas. What happens in 'them' stays in 'them'! Luckily clubs, casinos, beaches and other areas of interest can't speak!

I have friends throughout the state, country and world from my years of Military/DOD service/College and work. Even one who is now John Travolta's Executive Assistant! Couldn't live without pals Jessica, Sarah, Debbie, Sharon, Ronda, Julie, Donna, Chris, Renaldo, Rusty, Tim, Lindsay and others too numerous to mention here.

'Playing' on My Space from time to time; Tattoos, (I have four...two on my shoulder blades and two on the back of my hips, so they're pretty much only seen by me and those 'select' few...definitely thinking about getting maybe one more), watching televised sports and traveling. However, what many people are surprised to find out because I don't come across as 'domestic' is that I served as Head Costumer a few years ago for three of Freeland High School's Drama Productions: "Fiddler on the Roof", "It's a Wonderful Life", and "The King and I". I designed, created and/or altered over 700 costumes total. LOADS of work but SO PROUD to say I did it! Actually, sorta made history as I was the only costumer for the first production ("Fiddler") in the school's (then) new auditorium.

"Women on Top", "For One More Day", "The Da Vinci Code", "My Life So Far", "Sigmund Freud - The Interpretation of Dreams", Edgar Allen Poe's "Complete Tales and Poems", "The Collective Works of Langston Hughes", ANYTHING by Maya Angelou and James McBride. As a writer I have an INCREDIBLE library so I've not only read a lot...but have hundreds waiting for me in all genres. Just purchased "The Collective Works of William Shakespeare" which should definitely take awhile to get through, one play at a time! My friend, Julie, calls Barnes & Noble her "Disneyland" and I tend to agree. So much fun exploring each aisle!

Heroes:

And she's not just my oldest child, she's my best friend; Jaclyn, though she doesn't stay in touch as much as I'd like her to, for at least trying to stay in the game; Sarah, and her unending zest for life and Russell, Jr., for making us all laugh just when we think everything is at its worst. I'm the luckiest woman in the world to have such amazing kids. Then there's Russ, who for 25 years tried to do everything he knew possible to keep our family together. Brother-in-law and US Army Ranger, Adren, and though she was incredibly difficult to deal with at times, my late Mother.
