David Granha

David Granha was born in Cangas do Morrazo (Spain) in 1983. Music has attracted to him since he was a child and looked around searching carefully among his father..s vinyls or his uncles tapes, under which his musical influences, as distant as influential, have been printed out on him from singers the stature of Mike Oldfield, Jean Michelle Jarre as well as groups like Dire Straits, Metallica, Pantera, Sepultura or Def con Dos. Time goes by and carries with it those principles, taking him to more modern tendencies, even more guitarists, of groups like Deftones, Korn, or Rage Against the Machine.At the age of 15, his taste started to undergo some changes, mainly based on the electronics, not very far from the previous musical field, but with a latent presence of electronic instruments, emphasizing: The Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Orbital or Underworld. This change of tastes forces him, at the age of 16, to buy a Roland MC-303, with which he begins to experience new sensations that show him a wide variety of possibilities he didn..t know before, and with which he stars to do his first patterns. On this stage his tastes are based on techno, or perhaps on hard-techno with very fast, hard and dark percussions, sometimes minimalistic. He spends three years with his 303, During that period he performs his first lives together with Artus, Gunpowder Deluxe and Gavu. Who they all play a very important role in his musical growth.Sometimes, they even run into him in music festivals such as "Terra de Sons" or premises like "Area Brava", which have supplied the Morrazo with a bit of electronic life.At the end of this stage he decides to study sound technician and at the same time to enrich his ear. He actually begins to assimilate the musical production in a different way: much more centred and far away from the sounds he was used to, that..s to say, the House Music influence. When he was 19, he buys his first turntable, with which he has already played a great variety of styles including Techno, Hard-Techno, Latin-House, Funk, Jazz, Tribal, Progressive House, Breaks or Electro.Nowadays he composes some songs on the computer, his productions extend to Progressive House, Breaks, Electro-House or Minimal, always with electronic touches and melodic features, which are the ones that define and complete his style someohow. So far he has already released his first EP "Sokia" and the second one, "Where is Respect" for the Swish label "Acid Milk Recordings".
