Grammy Award winning Puerto Rican producer/arranger/engineer Paul Irizarry p/k/a ECHO has worked for the last 10 years with major urban Hip-Hop & Reggaeton artists in the latin market, producing beats, recording and mixing songs and albums for most of them. Echo has worked with the likes of such artists as: Tego Calderón, Nina Sky, Jazze Pha, Tempo, Ivy Quen, Nicolás Tovar, Obby Bermúdez Jadakiss, Twista, Jazze Pha, Baby Ranks, Fat Joe, Tony Touch, Pitbull, Tony Sunshine, DJ Kane, PUYA, La Secta, La India, Diaz Brothers, Yaga & Mackie, Divino, Don Dinero, Benzino, Mr. Cheeks, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Capleton, Cultura Profética, K7, Cecile, Mr. Easy, Wayne Wonder, Alexis & Fido, Voltio, Tito “El Bambinoâ€, MC Ceja, Mexicano, Baby Rasta, Carlos Baute, Tony Rijos, Giovanni Hidalgo, Polaco, Lito, as well as many other major artists and producers. Echo’s experience and expert knowledge of music have allowed him the opportunity to work in a number of different musical genres and tendencies, ranging from soulful R&B/Hip Hop to “in your face†reggaeton.
Recently Echo has received Latin Grammy Awards, as producer and engineer, on 2004 Vico C's (EMI Int'l) 2003 album "En Honor a la Verdad" and the other in 2005 with Daddy Yankee's (UMG) 2004 album "Barrio Fino" . Echo has been nominated for three Latin Grammy Awards including Record of the Year. As a proved and tested businessman, Puerto Rico, called THE LAB STUDIOS, has worked with many major American, international and latin artists from around the world, and is currently considered by many in the industry to be among the top production teams in the world for latin urban music.
After working over 100 years in the whole Latin reggaeton/hip hop/urban scene have earned Echo. Considered a producer/ songwriter/engineer of this genre, he is respected by for his talent & accomplishments and in the music industry.
Now in 2007 Echo presents INVASION, a compilation album that will feature heavyweight artists like Daddy Yankee, Jazzy Pha, Zion & Lennox, Yaga & Mackie and many others, will be released and it is expected to be a huge success. This album is expected to mark change in the reggaeton movement since it will incorporate many new elements into this well know type of music.
For 2007 Echo’s new record label INSOMNIO Records will be releasing a compilation album with all major latin artists and many major American artist taking part in it as well as developing artists. While doing all of this Echo also stays busy working on over a dozen major album releases for different labels to be released later this year. Recent projects include: Tego Calderon’s “The Underdogâ€, a Various Artist “Caribbean Connectionâ€, Crooked Steelo’s new record, Orishas fourth album, some Hollywood films & soundtrack, and many other.
