Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.

About Me

Personally I'm compassionate, confident, considerate, fun, open-minded, giving, versatile, intelligent, a good listener, courteous, curious, down-to-earth, romantic, and assertive when needed.Financially secure, I own my own home and am looking to buy another in the next year. All very exciting as I’ve never been into gardening or home renovations before, and now I find myself watering my little trees that I bought and planted myself every day :) [hmm better make that every second day. No? Every Monday? Every Tuesday and Thursday...hmm I water my trees very infrequently...just enough so that they don't die on me!]. So anyway, where was I? Oh yes, I have my own business that I find challenging, and it also allows me to spend more time on things that I am passionate about, which I think is really important in life.Having said that I think that giving back to the community is also really important, and so I like to do volunteer work. I've counselled people and helped refugees learn english in the past, and next I'm thinking of either helping at an animal shelter or soup van, or mentoring disadvantaged youth.Spending time with friends and family is also important to me...as my granddad used to say, "If you want to tell me about a man, show me his friends". So wise, and yet - when we visited his homeland my aunty asked him, "Dad, what's that large building over there?", to which he replied, "Well Linda...that looks like...a very large building" - so simple :)I leave you with my favourite quote: "Once we truly know that life is difficult - once we truly understand and accept it - then life is no longer difficult. Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters." M. Scott Peck

My First Memory

I think I was around three or four years old.  I was chasing this boy with a HUGE stick in my hands.  The stick was one of those ones that arch in the middle and then droop down again. ...
