In 2006 MC Magic, the Founder and Producer of the NB Ridaz, formerly known as "Nastyboy Click", came accross Angel through MySpace and discovered his talent. "Beautiful" and "All My Life" which was the 2nd official single from "Magic City". "All My Life" also became a music video, which is now on the MTV networks. Currently, Angel Lopez is working with MC Magic, Nastyboy Records Inc., "MAGIC CITY PART 2", the 2nd solo album by MC Magic. Angel Lopez has already scored a production colaboration with Magic for a young up and comming artist, Sophia Maria. Her album "Twisted Game" titled after the song Magic and Angel produced is out in stores!. Angel Lopez is a name not to be forgotten in the game, the kid is young, talented, and hungry to get out there.
It all started since I was a child. Music is my blood, my grandpa who is one of my biggest heroes and inspiration, was on his way to stardom. He was singing with the best Mexican singers of his times traveling all over Mexico. My mother, who is truly my heroe, was also a singer. She had a shot to impact the latin music industry, yet she let the chance go. Last but NOT least, my dad, who also plays guitar and sings.
About 9 years ago, my mother started dating her former musical group's guitarist, "Nacho", who toured with a band called "Los Moonlights". I told my mom I wanted to learn how to play guitar, and she told her couple to teach me.
So he did, and that's where it all started. He taught me "El Circulo de Sol". I was able to grow with the guitar just from those 4 chords that were taught to me. We moved to Hilliard,Ohio, due to economical problems in San Diego. Soon I realized God had gifted me. He gave me the ability to hear any song, and figure it out without music notation or guitar tabs. I also started picking up the piano in 2003. I'd listen to songs, and pick up the chords on the piano. Once again no music notation or anything.
In 2006, I had a few friends who were into the making beats, and rapping thing.
I caught on to it right away, so I had a friend who I'd get together and make "beats". Little did I know that was the path for me. I convinced my mom to buy me a Triton LE, which at that time the keyboard was $1,200. About 4 months after I got it, I made a 21 second loop which I titled "unknown" on "Cool Edit Pro" and my Triton. At the time I was a HUGE fan of Nb Ridaz, so I did my research to find out the group had split. I came across some contact information for the guy who did the MC Magic's MySpace page, "Mijo Macaroni" R.I.P.. I emailed him and told him how excited I was about this "unknown" track I made. He got back at me and told me to send it and he would show Magic! So when I read that email, I got scared, I thought shyt, what if they close the doors on me rather than giving me a shot? My mind was all over the place, but after some prayer, God answered me, "I got nothing to loose".
Well long story short, I submitted the track which is now known as "Beautiful". I flew to Phoenix without plan or intent of making "All My Life". It was "magic" like Magic tells me. I am now working on his second solo album,"Magic City Part 2" which is due out June,10,2008. I hope you all like the work and colaboration Magic and my self put together. I'm not planning ..ping this soon, I'm planning to walk into the industry, and stay in the industry. I'm Here to stay baby!
God Bless You All, and keep posted for updates!
