I am here for Friends

About Me

First and foremost, I'm a mom. My daughter's my world and my everything. I'm a smart woman who can take care of myself, hold an intellectual conversation and still be a dork.
I'm not so smart when it comes to matters of the heart. I tend to wear it on my sleeve when I shouldn't and build a wall around myself at times when I should be open to new experiences.
I can be so optimistic that it makes me pessimistic. As I've gotten older I've mellowed - I don't talk nearly as much as I did back in the day. I value my alone time more than ever, and while I'm athletic and love exercising, I also love a good book and glass of wine.
I value those who value me. I have a hard time walking away from things, because it's not my style to give up.
I laugh easily, love trying new things and am happiest when I can make someone smile, and vice versa.
When it comes down to it, my family and close friends are my everything. Only God knows what tomorrow brings, so I cherish every special moment I get to be with them.

My Interests

- Love playing and watching sports.
- Celebrate tradition, but welcome change.
- Fiercely competitive...with myself, more than anyone.
- Big-time planner, but love surprises.
- Hard-headed, soft-hearted.
- Enjoy being outdoors, but a good book at home is nice.
- Outgoing and social, but having 'me' time, is a priority.
- Easily forgive, but never forget.
- Follow-through on everything, quit nothing.

Music:

I like most kinds of music, but New Kids on the Block is still the best group of all time!

Movies:

Juno, Journey From the Fall, Sleepless in Seattle, Jerry Maguire, Crash, A Walk To Remember, Big Daddy (and most Adam Sandler movies), Sweet Home Alabama (Reese is my fav actress, I love her movies!), Borat, Soul Food. I do also enjoy action thrillers too, not only chick flicks and corny comedy!

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, October Road, Jeopardy, Amazing Race, American Idol, Everybody Hates Chris, and of course the Seattle major league teams: Sonics, Seahawks and M's! Old school: Fresh Prince, In Living Colour, Friends, Growing Pains, Family Ties, Silver Spoons, TJ Hooker, Who's The Boss, Greatest American Hero, 90210, Party of Five, Felicity, Wonder Years.

Books:

A few of my favorite authors include: Sophie Kinsella, John Krakauer, Jane Green, Lauren Weisberger and Jennifer Weiner. The 5 Love Languages is the best 'self-help' book out there, and Marley and Me...will change much more than just the relationship between you and your dog.

Heroes:

My parents, my daughter and probably some people I've barely met and have yet to meet.

Some Of My Biz & Stats:

Status: Wouldn't you like to know? Either way it's not going to improve your chances...
I have a MySpace profile because: It's free, keeps me in touch with my peeps and shows off my kid!
Which way do I swing: To each their own, but I don't bat for the same team...
Muthaland: Vietnam, via West Seattle.

Word-ology (Updated March 27, 2008)

Thanks to a recent conversation at work, I decided to comprise my own list of words I can’t stand...words that should be used on an as-needed basis, or simply shouldn’t exist. If you&rsquo...
