I was born in London, England in, well, never mind. I became interested in theatre when I was about 15 or 16.
In 1983 I met Stephanie Lawrence who quickly became one of my best friends. I was always in awe of her incredible talent. She had one of the best voices in musical theatre. I love her so much. She passed away in 2000 and I miss her every single day. When Steph was starring in Starlight Express I was lucky enough to meet and become friends with Frances Ruffelle. After I lost my job in 1986 she put in a good word with her mum, Sylvia (thanks Fran) and in 1986 I landed the best job ever - working at the Sylvia Young Theatre School, combining my love of theatre with my love of children. I got to work on some fabulous shows - The Wizard of Oz with the RSC, Les Miserables, Aspects of Love, amongst others. Starlight Express also brought the wonderful Ray Shell into my life. I miss the lifestyle I had when I lived in London but I have grown to love LA very much!
