About Me

Orchids are immortal. To reduce theft, engineers designed the light bulbs in the World Trade Center to screw in backwards. In 2004, astronomers searching the constellation Centaurus, fifty light years from earth, discovered a diamond 2,485 miles in diameter. As “only Allah is perfect,” every Persian rug includes at least one deliberate mistake, known as the Persian Flaw. High on hillsides throughout Ireland are vacant fields lined with empty rows called “famine beds;” planted with potatoes just before the Great Famine of 1845, most remain untouched to this day. In the new version of the game Monopoly, player tokens, like the top hat, the car and the shoe, have been replaced by a Toyota Prius, McDonald’s French fries, a New Balance running shoe, a cup of Starbucks coffee and a Motorola Razr cell phone. In isolated locations around the world, massive migrating drifts of sand known as “booming dunes” issue low-frequency tones that resonate for as long as 15 minutes and up to 15 miles away. 20% of our DNA has been patented.
