Hello Friends!! This year's City in Motion Company Concert at the Gem Theater on April 12th has somewhat of a theme of red and we are calling it "RED Dances". Not only are we expressing that the color red is the color of passion, the color of our very life force, and the longest wavelength visible to the human eye, but we will also be showing our support for AIDS Awareness. We will be showing our support in various ways including walking as a team for the 20th annual AIDS WALK Kansas City. The Walk is approximately 3 miles starting at 10 a.m. and will be held on Saturday morning, April 26th at Theis Park, located at 47th and Oak Street, just south of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. AIDS WALK Kansas City is our city's largest HIV/AIDS Fundraiser. AIDS WALK 2008 marks the 20th year in which individuals, families and friends will come together to take life changing steps to help local AIDS Service Organizations provide emergency services, medical care, long-term nursing and shelter to those affected by HIV/AIDS in our community. The funds that are raised benefit the Hope Care Center, SAVE Inc., Kansas City Free Health Clinic, and the Good Samaritan Project. Each of these organizations offers outreach and support to hundreds of people in the metropolitan region every day. City in Motion Dance Theater is working with AIDS Walk Kansas City to promote AIDS Awareness and community support for Kansas City AIDS organizations. I am participating in Aids Walk KC 2008 and would love to have your help in my fundraising effort. Aids Walk KC is a wonderful event that raises money for four local AIDS organizations, so all of the money stays in Kansas City to help our community. Please take a minute, click on the link below, and donate whatever you're able to donate. Thank you so much!I've spent the last 24 of my 26 years on this Earth dedicated to dance. At 2 1/2 years old my parents took me to ballet class and I've been in love with it ever since. I am very much a typical Pisces and live my life as a dreamer. I am shy, sensitive, and easy going and have a high level of focus on feelings and the inner journey. Life truly is a journey for me, living each day and learning new lessons. I have been a professional dancer with City in Motion Dance Theater for 5 seasons, and have been with Reach...A Movement Collective for two seasons. I teach ballet at the City in Motion studio and Penn Valley Community College, and am currently teaching a Canine Freestyle Dance Class and Doga at The Dogs' Spot in Gladstone, MO. In case some of you are confused by the term Canine Freestyle Dance go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NutzSiRpYBc. As I've gotten older, I've learned the importance of friends and family. I've let down my walls a bit to those who are closest to me, and in doing so, I've discovered more of myself.
