At the age of 9 Déborah already discovered her deep passion for singing, as she started being a part of her pentecostal church choir. At that time she didn´t even dare to dream that this would be the beginning of something much more than that. Struggeling with most songs, that all seemed much to high for her to reach, she had lots of them transposed just because of that. She always admired those girls around her, that could sing so well and also her so talented mother and brothers. Only 3 years later she started touring through Europe with the worldly know Continental Singers, being the youngest soloist.
At her 17th birthday a friend of hers sat on the piano and started playing a song he had given her a couple of days before. Spontanioulsy her brothers joined him on their instruments and also Déborah grabbed a mikrophone to start singing THE song "Mercy Seat", which would become the most played and wished song of her band. This was the birth of her own band called... Mercy Seat.
At the same time she started her career, being the youngest flight attendant for the swiss company Crossair and later called SWISS. But it meant much more to her than just a job, she had found her second passion.
Déborah gave more and more concerts and it started to become very international. Songs about hope, faith, real life and also her funny, yet very honest kind opened up doors from performances in clubs, over huge concert halls, youth events, modern church services to prisons - all around europe, mostly france, the netherlands, switzerland and germany. About her experience with concerts in prisons she says: "At first it feels strange, especially walking on stage in a mens prison, feeling every eye starring at you. But because of the message I am sharing through songs, they were deeply touched and changed, that I almost bursted out into tears. I then knew, why I was doing all this! Even the prison guards had never experienced anything like that!"
Her career started growing outside of her band "Mercy Seat" as well, she won songwriting and singing contests, was asked more and more as a solo-singer, yet still decided to take a year off in Sydney/Australia, where she was studying music at the hillsong leadership college. This was the most lifechanging time for her, as she says herself and the place where she learned so many things, that made her stronger in her personality and in what she wants to achieve and give in life! This year thaught her that there is more to life than just the superficial part we see...and that is what is on her heart now, that is what she wants to talk about in her songs.
By using her "big mouth", having that funny, happy, yet very true personality with the mixture of her strong and powerful voice, Déborah captures the ears of listeners and sings right into their hearts, no matter where she is...it might be at a concert, as a soloist, or even in movie theaters, where she replaces the commercials before the movie by a simple song. You never know what she´s up to and that makes her who she is.
This is how she got the attention of several TV stations and Media around Austria and Germany. Just because she convinced one of her passengers, bringing a guitar along on board to sing Gospels with her. In the end all passengers were singing along for more than 20 minutes.
Not long after that she was invited to sing at the "Miss Contest" of her company, which took place in Vienna. That was her first official performance as the "singing Flightattendant".
She sang songs like her favourite "Mercy Seat", but also Hits from Mariah Carey or Gloria Gaynor. It was a huge success and after standing ovations from the audience it was hard for her to leave the stage at all. It wasn´t long before the first step was made towards her future singing career.
