L'association Uppertone a pour but la promotion et la diffusion de la culture musicale Jamaicaine.
Elle accueille aujourd'hui 4 groupes (Unitone, Irie Team, Time Acome et Mystically), un backing reggae (Mighty Tone Band) et plusieurs Sound Systems (Mash Up Sound, More And More Selecta et UpperSound).
Uppertone s'investit dans la production, la diffusion et le développement d'actions de sensibilisation du public (organisation de concerts, projection de films, communication, ...).
Elle contribue au développement d'un réseau reggae dans le grand Est.
