Dojo

Dojo is a project that produced electronic music from early 2002-2004. Consisting of Kriyatrix and Blackhurst , the two met while producing music in the band Alchemy . With Alchemy being more of a downtempo project, Dojo is the result of Blackhurst’s and Kriyatrix’s inclination for breakbeat. Their first impromptu gig was at the now defunct Marijuana Tea House. Sitting on the floor with their gear (then consisting of a synth, a sampler, an effects box and a mixer) on top of suitcases was Dojo’s humble but irie beginnings…thanks Ahkentek for that one.
Kriyatrix has since left the project to study contemporary dance . Blackhurst went on to complete a solo cd . He may currently be found zenning in the foothills of the Himalayas collecting all manner of bizarre samples.
