How does one write an about me section? this is a question mankind has wrestled with since the dawn of time. I will give it my best shot.
One of the biggest defining parts of my life has been my weight loss. In highschool I weighed 250 pounds.. even for a 6 foot tall guy that was a lot of fat to be carting around. Every day I felt like crap and my confidence was in the hole. After some major changes in my life I knew I had to really get on it. The only person I could rely on 100% to make me happy was me. Now I am a sleek 169 pounds with 11% body fat and have gone from a 42 inch waist to a 30, a extra large shirt to a medium. I still have chubby cheeks which I am somewhat certain will never leave me but I am strong, healthy and feel much much better. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I am careful with what I eat and I go to the gym many times a week. I am giving my body the respect it has always deserved, and putting the past that I never wanted behind me. I have grown a lot emotionally too, I am stronger and better than ever before. I still have my weaknesses but I strive everyday to overcome them.
I love to watch movies, my collection is so huge..which explains why I have no money from my first job. I love the outdoors (when it is warm anyways) biking is my passion, when the weather is right I am gone for hours exploring everything and everywhere my pedals take me. I watch perhaps too much tv and spend too much time on my laptop (which is a weird plastic third arm basically). Generally just hanging out with my friends and being a nerd is on the menu too, I won't tell you about my 19th level orc barbarian if you don't ask (and I recommend you don't haha).
I am a graduate of Sheridan College's advertising program, I looked for jobs that interested me, didn't find any, so I am planning on going back to school september 2007 (not sure where or what yet).
I am currently a night stock zombie at zellers.. little pay, little sleep, weird co-workers.. it builds character and pays the bills though. As a result I am on wonky hours. I usually work until 6 or 7 am and sleep until 2 or 3 pm. Then I repeat the cycle. I will relish the day I quit for a better job, one day I will see sunlight again, oh yes.
Everything happens for a reason, I truly believe that. Everything good or bad has shaped me into who I am today. I am a huge believer in fate and karma and I try to be the best person I can be. I am a vegetarian and I have been one since I was 16. I am not militant about it though. You don't force your meat on me, I won't force my tofu on you. I am a bit of a neat freak and cleaning sometimes is a form of meditation for me. I value punctuality and hardwork.
In the future I want to dedicate my life to helping people. I would love to work for a non profit agency or something of the ilk. I love animals and nature a lot and would be immensely happy to spend my life working to protect and preserve them. I hope to find someone perfect for me oneday and travel the world (I know everyone says that but it is true).
It might seem like I am kinda an overly serious person and there is that element to me. This is balanced though by a huge goofball who loves to watch cartoons, be silly with his friends and still to this day eyes the toy section in stores with childlike joy.
