Childhood, for me, was the life of a preacher's kid. Oh, and not just any preacher, Salvation Army officers. To those familiar with the colloquialism, I have never considered myself a OB (Officer's Brat). I could name people who were/are, but I digress. At present I am married, and the father of two boys. The love of my life, Alice, is ever the persevering stay-at-home mom (and I'm pretty sure she likes it that way).
I work full-time.
When I'm not at work, my time is divided (however unequally) between household chores, my family, catching my favorite shows whenever possible, and trying to write.
My writing really got started in 1998 when I joined up with a group of people in a Yahoo! chat. From there, the characters I played developed into characters that I have begun to write about. And I still do so, along with some of the people I first began chatting with. Since then, I have created other characters, and am in the midst of developing them, their stories, their personalities...and maybe one day, a published book. I have been pestered by friends at work who say that I need to hop to it, and "Get that book written, Paul" so that one day they can say they knew me when...
Believe me, second to going to Heaven when I die, I would love nothing more than to get published. But, I have a long way to go, and there are always those times when writer's block hits, my muse (who has no name) goes on vacation, and all these ideas are floating around in my head but I can't focus or find the time to sit down and write. It gets quite frustrating, but I'll leave the rest of my ranting to my blog.
In general, I am an entertainment freak. Maybe its a bad case of ADD, but I always want something to absorb my attention, or else I go nuts from boredom. Sometime those desires for entertainment wax nostalgic...for things like the game Zelda II that I downloaded for an NES emulator on my computer...can you say old school?
And lastly, for now, if you can't already tell by my background, I have a thing (not quite a fetish...so NOT the right word) for DRAGONS! There is just something majestic, wicked, powerful and alluring about them. I can't quite place the exact time when I simply fell for these fantastic figures of fantasy fiction (shoot me later for the alliteration), but it was way before they became the overused figures that they are on the stylized bowling shirts you'd find at Hot Topic. And yes, one of my characters is a Dragon.
You Are a Dragon
You are very charismatic and incredibly popular.
People are drawn to your energy, but you are a very difficult person to get to know.
You are very active - you are usually hard at work or play.
You enjoy drama, and you enjoy anything unusual or eccentric. What Mythological Creature Are You?
Well, that's it for now. If I think of anything else...it'll probably be in my blog
