Radio personality, Showtime “Mr. Talk of the Town,†is the voice listeners have come to recognize as their own. Hardly a veteran with just 5 years of commercial radio experience under his belt, he has a following only those with much more time in the game experience. The clubs he hosts boast beyond-capacity attendance on a weekly basis and his radio show has listeners tuned in like clockwork every day.
Every generation has a believer...
When most kids were playing hopscotch Showtime was making mix pause tapes featuring music from Big Daddy Kane, LL Cool J, Rakim and Kool G Rap. His love for Hip Hop was almost instant and over the years grew song by song and show by show. His deep love and commitment for all things Hip Hop drove his desire to be within a medium that would allow him to share in the growth and development of his first love. Showtime believes radio is not just a means to be popular; it’s his way to ensure that the core values of the elements of Hip Hop are preserved. His love and concern is genuine. As a result, his listeners believe in him and gain a greater appreciation of the genre.
Every generation has a producer...
Showtime began his radio career in 2000 at Norfolk State University’s WNSB College Radio station as an on air jock. There he honed his skills and interviewed artists such as Pharrell, Norega, Grand Puba and The Clipse. He also gained the respect of community movers and shakers by providing politicians, advocates and community leaders a platform to discuss issues that affected our communities. He is able to talk to practically anyone about practically anything. This is a skill that only the truly successful share. This trait has followed him throughout his career and enabled him to have genuine relationships and build a great reputation in the industry.
Every generation has a leader...
Showtime is on the airwaves of WWHV Hot 102.1 FM daily at 7pm. For the past five years he has been the go-to-guy and has been on air during every time slot. This exemplifies his flexibility and ability to relate to any listener in any time slot. Yes, he understands radio and oh, yes, he understands Hip Hop. In addition to being a jock Showtime runs the Promotions Department and oversees the internship program and station street team. His future goals include hosting a syndicated radio show, running his own marketing and promotions company and founding a nonprofit organization aimed at assisting young fathers.
