About Me

"The Family Dances" is an album-sized project of rooos! with each dance representing a character in a family tree. Specifically, the sounds on each track denote the qualities of the family member, such as: plastic= female, metal = male, glass = youth, wood = age, and so forth. Instruments or "sound objects" (if you want to get techy about it) are custom-built by rooos! for every family member. The sounds of the mouth, like "ch" and hard consonants also correlate with different characteristics of that family member. Lineages affect the fundamental songwriting elements like rhythm, melody, key, chords, and structure. For instance: siblings will share similar rhythmic patterns, children will share melodies with their parents, grandparents and grandchildren share similar key (or in most cases, a tonal center, because a lot of these songs don't have real keys). It is, as of yet, unreleased, unfinished, unmixed, and labelless. Thank you for listening. -rooos!
