There’s always traffic, cars parked three deep for the best slices in town. We’ve got trees, low buildings, sky and a neighborly mix of old timers and newcomers of every race.â€Everything Must Go is the realization of a longtime dream of partners Bahr Brown and Tone McRae. The native New Yorkers met back in 1985 when they attended Harlem’s Rice High School and have remained close friends since. For the past five years, Brown and McRae have produced hand-made heat transfer T-shirts under the name Vigilantee. Through connections, word-of-mouth and private orders, the Vigilantee brand has been spotted in magazines like Complex, GQ, People, InTouch and worn by celebrities like Usher, Jay-Z, Damon Dash, Jadakiss, Hype Williams, Jalen Rose and Michael Rapaport. Brown worked at lower Manhattan’s SoHo Skate back in the late 80s and had been noticing a massive interest in skateboarding in Harlem. “It’s beautiful to see this interest in skateboarding uptown,†he says. “When I was young, it was an anomaly – a black kid from Brooklyn skating in Manhattan. People often think West Coast, suburban or white kids when they think of skating, but that’s never really been the case. We’re definitely gonna help change that, and hopefully cater to all the young people up here who are, or want to get into skating.â€Everything Must Go is located at:
