Hmm, well, I’m a senior, the Vice President of ASB, and I work at a pet shop. I take a lot of classes because I don’t want to spend 10+ years in college. but I decided that I'm going to take an easier course load for my senior year so I can relax a bit more and maybe even do some traveling (like to NoCal...) I truly live my life in the fast lane, which isn’t always a good thing. Right now, I’m speeding through school and not enjoying the scenery. My goal for my senior year is so slow it down a bit. This will be my last chance to be a kid, and I think I’m going to take advantage of that.
I do enjoy my life right now despite my pace. I have so many amazing friends and I don’t know what I would do with out them. They are always there to help pick up the parts of my life that I drop. And I hope that one day I can be as supportive to them as they have been to me.
I am the person that people go to when they want the truth. I don’t like to sugar coat things because I believe people can handle the things I have to tell them. And if they can’t, then they need to learn how to because life isn’t rated PG. and to all those reading this, keep in mind I do to others as I would like to be done to me. I don’t like people to sugar coat what they tell me. It takes too much time for them to get to the “real meat and potatoes†(heehee). It is so much simpler to just say what you mean and not try to hint and hope I understand, because I probably won’t.
My biggest attribute and flaw is that I trust too much. When I look at a person, I see them as their best. I found out that this is the trait that can make me be charismatic. I have also found out this is what makes me so trusting it's a fault, because when I see a person, I see them as incapable of lying and being deceitful. But I am proven wrong again and again. My naïve perception of people tends to get me in trouble. I have realized that this is also where my reserved side comes from. Because I automatically assume everyone else is so great, I place myself at the bottom of the totem pole, and no one finds comfort in being the last in anything. But as I go on in life, I become more and more worn by the elements. Because of this, I am beginning to become more and more accurate at properly placing people that I meet.
This summer has been the most influential summer yet. It began with the graduation of many of my friends. They are all off to college, and I won’t be able to see them. I know that time will make losing them easier to bear. I also know that no matter how much I love them and want to remain close to them, I will not be able to keep in touch with them all. But I promise that I will never forget the times we shared and the lessons you taught me.
Next, there was NASC. I met amazing people from all over the state (cough *Cupertino* cough) and became very close to them. So close, in fact that I took the liberty of going on a road trip with Sara and Brodie to see them. That trip was the most amazing thing ever. The entire trip was complete freedom and relaxation. (Well, except for the drive up and back in the middle of the night) I loved spending time with everyone from Monta Vista. It was so fun getting to see what it was like to live in NoCal. All I can say is: love NoCal, and love them.
