111The Raw Dealers--created in 2005 by Artist Cameron C Collier (aka Ballard Lysander Flatsteam) Collier lived recorded demos & played around Detroit in 2005. In 2006 Collier moved to Chicago as a street singer/harmonica performer on busy Michigan Avenue, and sat in with his harp at countless Bars in the Southside & as North as Logan square, Quote:I couldnt find anyone that had it or wanted to play this sound & So i sat on my original material.-CC. So then it was back to Detroit at the end of 2006 to perform on Corktown rooftops, the Cass Corridor, and Hamtramck bars writing & playing Detroit with guitarist James Violet McConnell (ex-The Go, ex-The Volebeats). Cut some demos in 2007-‘08—the stiring “Wait A Second Mama†and pleading “Lord Swear I’ll Change.â€Here and now, CC is joined in The Raw Dealers by lead Guitarist Nicky P (aka Niko Lie)whos other pj's include(Wendell Harrison's Detroit Swing, Gino Fanelli’s Red Hot Sugar Daddies (f/k/a Gypsy Strings of Detroit)). Hailing from the same hometown, Collier and Nicky P met at Downriver house parties in 1996, bonding over a mutual love for the MC5 before falling out-of-touch for 12 years. In early 2009 they were reunited in the chaotic chambers of Detroit's 36th District Court and soon realized that they had each spent the intervening years separately immersing themselves in the raw sounds of 1920’s and ‘30’s blues records. The Raw Dealers are currently rehearsing, performing, self-promoting in preparation to make a record.Collier's vocals have any range. Super high and gritty/bass/raspy/or smooth Low "I wanna make a Raw Dealers 45 and single," -CC. "I want to keep my voice plain and unfiltered--sometimes rough like on "Trash Me," sometimes high like on the demo for ‘Wait a Second Mama,’ using only what was available back in the 1930’s… a lil’ reverb and the rest is me, all me. I did a demo for “Lord Swear I’ll Change†that has a double-tracked vocal, but for the new record I want it just plain jane and one single take for the most part.-cc. Nicky P is as versatile on guitar as they come. Really stepping up the quality and commitment of The Raw Dealers and providing a sound that hasnt been around since before the 1950's. Collier and Niko have wrote several songs together in the past 6 months for the record. Anyone who wants a real deal blues band make us an offer, We will consider it as long as we can keep busy and make a great Detroit blues record...â€
