Hard Time Hustlers Entertainment Group was Co-founded in 2001 by two childhood friends, Souljah and OD. The two persevered through a lot of personal struggle growing up and wanted to become positive leaders to many young black youths in the local community. Both growing up in negative lifestyles; they knew all to well how the streets can have such a strong pull on young African-Americans. Drug infestation, gangs, and a host of other problems plagued the communities in which they lived. The two didn't want to continue following the negative trends that cut down the lives of so many friends and family already. Crossing ideas and building a recipe for success the two would begin to structure a multi-purpose business enterprise. The plan was to specifically target teenage to young African-Americans adults and build from there. Showing them that personal struggle can build great character and that they too can persevere with the right kind of help. Many may think to put a negative connotation on the name, but it is quite the opposite. "Hard Time" just represents the struggle that many young and old African-Americans are all too familiar with and any race for that matter. "Hustlers" just represents the fact, "that no matter what stay on your grind" ~ Souljah. Grinding not in a negative sense but in a positive light in which many people can relate to. If you work full-time and go to school full-time then you're a hustler. Taking care of your child, working, and paying all the bills you are a hustler explains Souljah. People stereotype us based on our behaviors, a lot of which is our personal & common way of reacting to "Hard Times" Were providing jobs, hope, and allowing people to still chase dreams, states Souljah & OD. It's important to have that "Hustlers" mentality without it you will never make it through the "Hard Times" ~ Souljah. When it would be realized that Souljah and OD would need an extra hand in running the enterprise they brought in a much trusted friend and family member Big Lud. The three would represent what they call the pyramid or triangle of unity. We are keeping it all connected to our local community, It's only right since we started this movement here ~ Souljah. A movement that would prove itself to keep people moving in a positive direction throughout life.Hard X Hustlers represent all those grinding through their struggles in life.
If you don’t have a “hustlers†state of mind you just won’t survive these streets. What streets, the streets anywhere within this world. So why is the “X†used to spell the word “time Because the “X†has a more significant meaning, it represents the fact that you, or a group of people were counted out in life. Felons, the homeless, people in poverty, people born of a certain culture or skin color, and so many others like them were counted out because of nonsense others in society placed on them. We felt people all over the world could and would relate to the name. It ties people to the root of their struggles but also encourages people to move on, move forward. The name association allows one to never lose sight of what & where that person came from. We weren’t amongst the first hustlers, nor the first group of people to face hard times, all that has been going on long before our time, but we're here to be amongst the first to bring a new look of what a Hard X Hustler is. If you aren’t on your grind then you wasting time.
