Greetings one and all, thanks for checkin my website. My name is Phillip Henry, my d.o.b is 18/04/78, and i'm of Jamaican heritage. I have been performing publicly since 1995, first on the Drum & Bass scene. My name then was Krugie Banton. Dem times Bass FM (a pirate radio station) and the Hippo Club were the places to be. In 97 I joined a Hip Hop band called Erban Poets. In 99 and 2000 we were voted the best unsigned band in Wales and the following year we were voted best unsigned band of the UK. This event was held at Shepherds Bush and sponsored by Diesel U-Music awards. Within these years we performed all over the UK and opened up for bands such as Stereophonics, Super Furry Animals, and Prodigy etc. In the midst of this in 1999 I visited Ghana, West Africa where I stayed for five weeks doing community work. In 2000 while supporting a band called ManChild in Glastonbury I met Mango Seed (Adam Mayo) Two years later I supported him as a backing vocalist at Sumfest Jamaica. From then on we started working together in Europe with artists such as Mad Professor/Lee Scratch Perry in Porto Portugal and Martin Cambell in France. We also did work with a 30 piece band called Carnival Collective of which five successful shows including Glastonbury were achieved. On March 2nd at the Toucan Club Cardiff I hosted a live show on BBC1xtra. This was a drum & Bass night and what a night to remember!!! I continue to be a residential MC for a drum & Bass night called Submerge up until july 05' when I and Mango Seed opened up for the Wailers and Skatalite show in Bermuda. It was to be 8 months later when I returned back into the UK to be one of the MC's opening up for the 5 stop Wailers tour 06' of the UK. The following month the 1xtra D&B tour 06' was launched and I was the MC representing Wales. Three weeks ago Monday I did a another show with 1xtra, four hour back to back set featuring DJ's T-Bone and 23DJ. Big up the DJ's and those who tuned in! More to come..as the movement continues.
