About Me
I am completely, totally, and forever in covenant love with Yeshua the Messiah, aka Jesus Christ. He is my life, my strength, my joy, and my purpose for living.
I was born and raised in Spanish Harlem. My first apartment was on 106th. Street between 5th. and Madison, so I had Central Park right next door. My parents and I ultimately moved to 112th. Street and Madison Ave, only a block and a half from the Park, so it was literally my backyard. I still love going there and walking the length and breadth of it, savoring the sights and enjoying the unique New York City environment that I grew to love so much.I've been living in the Bronx since I was 19 years old, so this year marks my 30th. year of being a "Bronxite". I thank God for where I live now, but I'll never forget Manhattan, and especially el Barrio, which I visit as often as I can.Although I'm an only child, my parents raised a little girl for the first few years of her life, and she is my sister in every sense of the word. We played, fought, and forged a deep and lasting friendship. I love you, Ogi!It was at St. Cecilia's Church that I had my first taste of Jesus; there I learned to love Him and reverence Him with all my heart. I actually encountered Him in the new birth experience at the age of 14 on a bus trip to Niagara Falls sponsored by my cousin's Spanish Pentecostal Church "Rehoboth", and I've been growing in the Lord ever since, learning new things about Him every day.God granted me the undeserved honor to be a Pastor of His flock on May 31, 1987, the day The Glory of Christ Church was born. I was actually ordained two weeks later, on June 14, in Puerto Rico, by Rafael Hernandez, the only Pastor who would ordain a single man like myself into the ministry. I will forever be grateful to him. His step of faith and courage has resulted in blessings for me and for the many that our Lord grants me the privilege to minister to. Rest in peace, Rafael.I have no idea if I'll ever marry, but I have a great family in the Lord, and even a son, Jeff, that I helped raise and with whom I enjoy a blessed and happy relationship. He's allowed me to know the joy of being a Dad, and I hope to continue being a good one for as long as I'm here on Earth.I am grateful for so many other special people in my life: they are too many to count, and I don't want to leave anyone out. Of special note, however, are Josh (our Church treasurer and my helper in many ways and times, especially when my mom passed away), Millie our Church secretary and all around friend, elder Frank Sierra (who many think of as my actual brother and twin!), an of course all the leaders and members at Glory of Christ Church, to whom I have pledged my life as their pastoral servant and father in the faith.I pray to continue growing in the grace and knowledge of Yeshua all the days of my life, and to be a useful vessel in His hands for the blessing of many. Thanks for reading, and may the Shalom (Peace) of Adonai (the Lord) be with you now and always!
