Hopefully, at some point in the near future, I will have time to actually update this thing properly. I'm a documentary filmmaker and an activist. I use documentary production as a way of creating art and getting a message out there. I'm rational (in other words, as far left as they come) and extremely opinionated. I received a graduate degree in documentary and ethnographic studies at the University of Oregon last year. I planned on continuing onto a doctoral program but decided there were better things I could do with my time, at least for the moment.My current project is being co-produced with my husband, Jason, and a psychologist who specializes in Autism. It's tentatively titled, "Stand By: People with Autism Helping People with Autism." As soon as the website looks a bit better, I'll post a link here. I'm definitely finding myself short of time these days!!!I use a Canon XL1s and am a firm believer that film is a waste of money! Other than my camera, I have very limited equipment. I don't think it takes a lot of equipment to make a good documentary, just a good filmmaker. I edit using a Final Cut Pro 5 system, dual monitors, and a panasonic tv in place of an NTSC monitor (I know, I know).I have a private myspace account, so if you know me (and only if you indeed know me in "real life"), please send me a message.
